gear

BIKES: Easy, bring them with you to the Start.

Our General Disclaimer: There’s several points along the course where you may find it advantageous to drop your bike and proceed on foot. While we had no worries about our bikes getting stolen while setting the course – we also don’t own $4,000 carbon mtbs. So, carry a bike-lock if you have concerns.

PERSONAL BOATS / PADDLE GEAR:

  • If you’re using YOUR OWN Boat: Stage it in the designated area along with your PFDs/Paddles/Seats only. Don’t stage anything else with your boats (no water, food, clothes, etc.).
LOCATION: Yatesville Lake State Park Marina – Picnic Shelter: Map Link Note: this is about 15min from the S/F and doesn’t show up in Google Maps, so use the link.
  • If you’re just using YOUR OWN PFDs/Paddles/Seats (but rented a boat): Bring them with you to the START and we’ll transport them to the Paddle TA.
  • If you’re using RENTALS: It will already be staged for you (with paddles and PFDs) and you’ll pick those out during the race. The canoes do not have a center seat. Note that if you decide to use the provided paddles you must use the type provided with your boat (single-blade for canoes or double-blade for kayak). You are welcome to bring your personal kayak paddles to use in a rental canoe if you wish.

WATER: There’s water available at the Paddle TA. While there’s no “official” water-stations as part of this course, you’ll have access to a few public water sources throughout the course and numerous options to treat.

maps

MAPS: Each team/solo will receive one set of maps (1:24,000 scale) along with the Race Instruction sheet.

Freestyle: We’ll be sticking with a freestyle-ish format for this one, so you’ll get to choose HOW you want to spend your day! Fun.

Thanks for Committing to Adventure, and we’ll see you soon – the Lemaster Brothers
